It's Kidding Season
Well, the weather turned cold, at least for a while. The overnight lows are in the upper thirty's. Guess what that means? It's kidding season! On Friday, Deceber 4, three kids hit the ground. On Saturday, three dows dropped four more and we were up to seven. Sunday, the total rose to eight. On Monday, one doe dropped twins. By Tuesday, we were up to eleven. Yesterday, we added three more, to a total of fourteen. This has been the biggest crop in several years!
My wife credits this with the change in worming medication. For two years, we were using Valbazen by Pfizer Animal Health. It definitely worked on the parasites. The instructions say that it should not be given to pregnant females. We discovered that it also prevented females from becoming pregnant. We will not be using that product again.
