Bourne, Texas
Today, we walked around Bourne, Texas. It has the potential to be a great "cute little tourist" town with a genuine "Old West" theme. It has lots of historic buildings.
On the way back to Fredericksburg, we saw a cloud of black smoke ahead of us on Interstate 10 as we approached Comfort, Texas. Traffic on I-10 started to slow up, so we moved over to the service road. As we came over a rise, we saw the problem - a wildfire. The police had shut down the main road, although they kept the service road open.
Getting closer.
Getting a little too close. We are in the westbound lanes and that fire is burning right up to the edge of the eastbound lanes. It got a little warm, to say the least!
